<image:caption>As more and more people learn about the multiple uses of the hemp plant, they are realizing how much it can benefit their lives. There is still a stigma attached to the hemp plant primarily due to its association to cannabis for nearly a century. CBD was the bell of the ball when hemp was federally legalized, but now the industrial uses for the plant are starting to gain headway and interest is growing in the plethora of uses for the plant and the many benefits it can provide in our daily lives.</image:caption>

<image:caption>We are working with MNMRC to help transition Maui Gold Pineapples to an all-natural system of cultivation. This will entail designing brewing and spraying equipment that is appropriate at their scale, designing a transition period, supplying microbes, and helping them make the transition. And we continue to make new microbes and experiment with adding more oxygen to the fermenting process. Again we are working with tropical plants adding a layer of challenge to the learning curve.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The Taro (Kalo) has been cultivated in Hawaii for thousands of years and is an essential part of the culture and cuisine and is considered a sacred plant. Taro is a staple food in traditional Hawaiian diets and continues to be an important part, as we still import 95% of food to the Hawaiian islands. Learning about Taro helps preserve and promote its cultivation and supports the urgency to create more food gardens. Please enjoy our video about the wonder of the sacred Taro Plant. Additionally, this technology has the potential to create a closed-loop system, where waste products from one process can be used as inputs for another, leading to a more sustainable and efficient use of resources. <image:title>FSH Projects - Soil Remediation with Natural Biological Amendments</image:title>
<image:caption>Maui can grow year around and yet so few do because it is difficult to work with our damaged soils. The damage started back when the Hawaiian kings started to sell the Sandelwood and Koa trees. This sort of deforestation started drying out the soils and the small water cycle of our island was impacted. This trend was accelerated by the sugar and pineapple industries which opened up over 100 square miles of agricultural land on Maui – removing native vegetation that cycled water from ocean evaporation and protected soil microbes from the tropical sun. Step one in reversing this downward spiral is to work with the microbial communities. This project commenced in 2023 and is on going.</image:caption>
